Qualification and experience requirement
Ph.D in Engineering Sciences, Physics or Mathematics OR M.Tech in Computer
Science.
5 Years Experience (3 years for Ph.D’s in Engineering ) in Systems Administration and Networking. Familiarity with different operating systems like UNIX, SOLARIS, HP-AUX, IBM-AUX, etc.
Proficiency in high level Languages like FORTRAN, C and UNIX Shell Programming and Perl Scripts. Experience of Managing Enterprise networks is highly desirable.
Technical profile and Skills:
Expected to join as team member with focus on system
administration/networking/hardware tasks and planning for different aspects of IIT Indore infrastructure.
The applicant should have exposure/ aptitude in more than one of the following broad areas :-
Programming in C, C++, PERL, PYTHON, RUBY etc. and Shell Programming.
Advance knowledge of installation, upgrade and troubleshooting of Unix/ Linux servers, On hand experience with Open Source software highly desirable.
Knowledge of Network/ Distributed/ Web based applications and their security.
Familiarity with hardware platforms and knowledge about Hardware OS interaction.
Open Source software installation, configuration, maintenance.
Networked systems Planning, implementation and troubleshooting.
Develop document and conduct technical training sessions for end users.
