Indian School of Mines in Dhanbad, Jharkhand is a deemed University under UGC Act.

The deemed university intends to recruit several faculty positions through Special Recruitment Drive for SC, ST, OBC and PH Candidates.

Applied Physics

Computer Science and Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Environmental Science & Engineering            
Pollution Control, Wastewater engineering, Environmental Modeling, Geotechnical Engineering and Environmental Biotechnology.

Fuel and Mineral Engineering
Mineral Processing, Coal Washing, Fuel & Chemical Engineering, Mechanized Mineral Processing & Handling Equipment, Extractive Metallurgy.

Humanities and Social Sciences        
M.A. in English or Sociology or Political Science with specialization in English language, English literature, IEW, Applied linguistic; Value education, Human rights, development of Science & Technology; Cultural, Environmental, Gender and Gandhian studies.

Management Studies 
Marketing Management, Operations and Systems Management, Managerial Economics & Econometrics.

Mechanical Engineering and Mining Machinery Engineering           
For Mechanical Engineering, in the broad area of Machine Design, Thermal and Manufacturing Engineering. For Mining Machinery Engineering, BTech/MTech in Mining Machinery/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and/or teaching /research/practical experience in mechanized mining/Mining Machinery manufacturing industry.

Mining Engineering   
Rock Mechanics, Underground & Opencast Coal & Non-Coal Mining, Geomatics & Mine Surveying, Mine & Mineral Economics, Drilling & Blasting, Mine Ventilation and Computer applications in Mining.

Petroleum Engineering           
Petroleum/Chemical /Mechanical/Petrochemcal/Refining Engg with working experience in oil and gas sector and other related areas. 

Minimum qualification and experience requirement For all the faculty positions
PhD degree with First Class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch is mandatory.

For Professor position candidates should have at least 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience out of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate professor or equivalent

For Associate Professor position the candidates should have at least 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience out of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant professor or equivalent.

Whereas for Assistant Professor positions the experience is not mandatory.

Minimum qualification requirement for few disciplines
Petroleum Engineering : BTech in etroleum/Chemical/Mechanical/Petrochemical Engineering with MTech/PhD in relevant field and/or teaching/research/industrial experience in oil and gas industry/application.

Fuel and Mineral Engineering : BTech in Mineral /Chemical /Mechanical /Metallurgical Engineering or allied discipline  with MTech/PhD in relevant field and/or teaching/research/industrial experience in coal washing/mineral beneficiation.

Computer Science and Engineering : BTech in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering  with MTech/PhD in relevant field and/or teaching /research /industrial experience in computer industry/application.

Electronics Engineering : BTech in Electronics /Electrical Engineering  with MTech/PhD in relevant field  and/or teaching/research/industrial experience in electronics industry/application.

Environmental Science and Engineering : BTech in any discipline with MTech/PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering or BTech in Environmental Engineering with MTech/PhD in relevant field and/or teaching/research/industrial experience in Environmental Science/Engineering industry /application.

Filled in application as per the prescribed application format along with necessary copies of testimonials and a non-refundable demand draft for Rs.100/- drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines, payable at Dhanbad, should be sent to the undersigned.
