Mode of application to be made

Candidates required to pay an application form in the form of non-refundable demand draft for Rs.100/- and Rs.50/- depending on the posts [No fee for SC/ST candidates] drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Ropar, payable at Rupnagar, Punjab.

It is mandatory on the part of candidates to read and understand the terms and conditions laid down by the organization in their official notification.

Candidates required to submit their job applications separates for each post applied for at different campuses.

Miscellaneous Information

Outstation candidates called for test/interview will be paid 2nd Class Railway Fare through Demand Draft (to be sent later) from the place of duty/residence to Rupnagar/Place of Test/Interview and back by the shortest route.

Applicants serving in Government/Semi-Government Organizations/Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies must send their applications “Through Proper Channel”. The applications received without the recommendations of the employers will not be considered. However, an advance copy of application may be sent followed by the original application through proper channel.

Required qualification and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with first division and with 8 years experience in the relevant field at the level of Assistant Engineer or equivalent. Relaxation of 2 years in experience will be given to those possessing postgraduate qualification in Construction Management/ Structural Engineering or equal fields.

Desirable:

Preference will be given to the candidates who have served for at least 2 years as Executive Engineer having experience in coordination and supervision of constructions and maintenance of civil works including Public Health. The incumbent should have experience in contract management, tendering, planning, works accounts procedures, bye-laws and of local bodies, understanding of electrical, AC, telephone, computer networking etc., and construction projects of multi-storeyed buildings and having experience in planning/estimating/tendering as per CPWD/ PWD norms. Very good knowledge of CPWD manuals, preparation/ checking of estimates drawings, structural details, bill of quantities, preparation of tender documents, justification statements, addition/ substitute/ deviation items, statements and other associated issues related with building and construction.
